As 2024 draws to a close and we welcome the opportunities of a new year, we at the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) extend our warmest Season’s Greetings to our cherished global community. Reflecting on the milestones of this year, we are filled with gratitude for your contributions, collaborations, and unwavering support.
In 2024, the IIAS community continued to shine across the globe. The IIAS Conference in Kenya, the IASIA Conference in South Africa, and the EGPA Conference in Greece brought together diverse voices from academia and practice, fostering groundbreaking dialogues that pushed the boundaries of public governance and administration. These gatherings reinforced our shared mission of connecting scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to build a better future.
Our publications also reached new heights. The International Review of Administrative Sciences (IRAS) introduced innovative formats and welcomed an outstanding new editorial team under the leadership of Professor Sabine Kuhlman and Dr. Renate Reiter. Likewise, the IIAS Public Governance Series and the Governance and Public Management Series continued to produce essential contributions, including works on public servant education, governance cooperation in challenging contexts, and japanese public administration.
This year also marked significant advancements in our strategic goals. From enhanced digital platforms for IASIA and LAGPA to strengthened event management services, IIAS remains committed to adapting to evolving needs while prioritizing our core mission. The collaboration with UN DESA on establishing new global Standards of Excellence in Public Administration Education underscored our dedication to fostering excellence aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
As we celebrate these achievements, we look ahead to 2025 with renewed hope and energy. We are excited to continue our journey with you—improving public governance research, education, and practice together.
In 2025, our first gathering will be the IIAS-DARPG India Conference 2025, jointly organized with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG). It will take place in the Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on February 10-14, 2025 and focus on the theme of “Next Generation Administrative Reforms – Empowering Citizens and Reaching the Last Mile”. With 338 abstract submissions from 208 institutions across 58 countries, the event promises to be a truly global academic gathering.
From all of us at IIAS, we wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year. May the coming year bring growth, collaboration, and success to our vibrant community.
Warm regards,
The IIAS Team
