EGPA 2023 Conference Registration Now Open!

Diogo Pereira,

We are excited to announce that registration for the EGPA 2023 Conference is now open!

With over 620 abstracts and proposals submitted, we have accepted 520 for presentation during the conference. We are expecting more than 500 participants to register in the coming months. This conference will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on how to steer the European Union in poly-crises context and explore various topics addressed by the 23 EGPA Permanent Study Groups.

Prior to the conference, we will be hosting a PhD Symposium chaired by Eckhard Schroeter, Benjamin Friedländer, and Petra Đurman. Among the 29 PhD students selected, they will present their research and act as discussants for other papers. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to attend a plenary session dedicated to methodological aspects, featuring keynote speaker Benoit Rihoux.

The plenary sessions will focus on the main theme of the conference, inviting keynote speakers and practitioners to engage in dialogue on how to enhance the agility, resilience, and robustness of public administration in the face of multiple crises. The second plenary session will specifically address pre- and post-accession reforms during times of crisis.

We are also pleased to announce that a French-speaking Seminar Round Table will be organized in collaboration with our partners at IGPDE on the theme "Accompagner les transformations de l’action publique : Une réinvention du métier de conseil interne au cœur de l’Etat?". This session will explore the reinvention of the internal consulting profession within the state, highlighting the importance of supporting the transformations of public action.

Furthermore, we will be organizing several thematic panels on various subjects, including:

  • The New Neo-Weberian State
  • Administrative Crisis Management and Governance
  • Public Administration and Democracy
  • Public Administration and the Social Economy: Mutual Support in Times of Crisis?
  • Advancing Engaged Research in Public Administration
  • And more! Stay tuned for additional panel announcements in July.

Join us for stimulating discussions and exchange of ideas at the EGPA 2023 Conference!
